Shine On You Crazy Lady

It’s been a long while since our last blog post so I thought I would put down the celebrations and do an update of all things Purple over the last few months. December started off with a return to the fapper in Birmingham, on a freezing cold night we managed to warm ourselves up with a shortened set and half a dozen trips to the car with the amps. Hopefully we will be back in 2019 and thanks as always to Arthur (Catapult Club) who is always helping us and many other bands get some great gigs in Birmingham. Christmas came and went but just before the new year we turned up at the Robin 2 to open up for Dirty DC. We didn't know what to expect with it being in between Christmas and the new year but we were more than pleasantly surprised. After loading in and spending about 15 minutes trying to get Jacks van under the barrier for the car park we had time for a quick soundcheck before the doors opened. No exaggerating here but it seemed like an endless fellow of people who were still trying to get in a we finished our set let alone before we started. I think we sufficiently got the crowd warmed up for some AC/DC. An amazing gig one we won't forget and a great way to round off the year. Next stop Cannock Chase Radio... 2 days before we made a debut at the Station in Cannock we were invited for an interview on Cannock Chase Radio FM. Another great evening where #chairdrop was born, along with us promoting our single "I Said No", we got some air play for "Dead Mans Soul" and Blink Of An Eye". Another thank you to Andy (Meat Load) for having us on and we will hopefully be back in the studio soon to play live. Our next stop was the Station in Cannock where we supported Atom Heat Floyd! I have to say a top bunch who were very helpful and sounded great! Great venue and great sound. Unfortunately we were marred slightly with a few amp issues which we battled through and still managed to rock our set minus one song. We will be back at the Station soon to put things right! And finally a late happy birthday to Jack and Matty! Keep it Purple Jon
